Christopher Maverick's love of art began with comic books when he was seven years old. He entered Carnegie Mellon University as an art student in 1992. Over the years his tastes grew and matured and he experimented with several mediums from illustration, to paints to digitally generated images before finally falling in love with photography, his current medium of choice.

Mav tends to think of himself as more an artist than a photographer, concentration on composition and form rather than representation. His work has been featured in galleries, magazines, newspapers and online communities. A fan of glamour and sensuality in art, his biggest influences are the painters Nagel, Mukai and Janesko.

Outside of art, Mav's interests include creative writing, web design, pinball, and pro-wrestling. He has been competing as a professional wrestler on the independent circuit since 2004 and has competed in competitive pinball championships.

Mav is also an avid internet junkie. He makes his day-to-day living as a website designer and writes a popular blog. In 2006, he created the popular online photography community 365 Days, where he challenged others to take one self-portrait every day for entire year. The communtiy as grown to over 6000 members world-wide who have attempted the challenge. Mav co-hosts the weekly video podcast devoted to the project.
